Shell, the multinational oil giant have decided to withdraw from Nigeria's Onshore oil sector. Van Beurden has said that his organization was in talks with the Nigerian government to work out how to terminate its Onshore licenses. He made this disclosure at Shell's annual general meeting on Tuesday. Van Beurden said that Niger Delta oil is no longer fit for his business. He also said that the continuous oil theft, sabotage and spillage is no longer compatible with their strategic ambitions. Ha also revealed that the disengagement of Nigeria's Onshore sector will not affect it's offshore operations. He added that the company is still interested in the country's deep water and natural gas. Peoples Gazzet reported that the country had in the cause of Onshore operation in Nigeria experienced so many problems which includes, oil theft, sabotage and lawsuits carried out by communities over oil spills.
