The call has been made for the establishment of a Directorate of Investment by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The Group Executive Director Cowry Assets Management Limited Mr Charles Sanni gave the charge on Saturday at the National Convention of the Redeemers Men's Fellowship (RMF), held by RCCG Region 2, at The Masters Place, Gbagada Lagos.

Sanni, who said the Naira would continue to face stiff challenges in the immediate pre-election and post-election months next year, said the church should come up with a directorate to help it coordinate financial and investment trainings for church members to take informed decisions about how to remain afloat and above the gloomy economic forecast. It will be recalled that the RCCG recently established a directorate of political mobilization to drum awareness on the need for more Christians to participate in politics. Sanni, who spoke on what he called the pathways to economic recovery and growth emphasized the need for financial literacy for men, saying that as the pillars of the church, men need to be aware of what they need to do in the ever slippery waters of the economy in order to ensure that they remain afloat and above economic depression.

He said:"Challenges would always come. In the last eight years, we have moved from one crisis to the other all of which had a telling effect on the economy and peoples' ways and standard of living. From the days of Ebola Scourge to global recession, down to COVID-19, which had ravaged the world for two years now and from that to the Russian/Ukrainian war. That war is having a global effect on humanity as the cost of so many things are now shooting up as a result of the devastation and attendant sanctions by friendly nations against Russia." He added that with such a directorate, the church would be able to take its place in arming its members with requisite information about how to stay above crisis which would always rear its head in the world and how they can hedge against attendant uncertainties. He said as men, there is always the need to set financial goals and tap financial opportunities based on the power of information. "You must always need to work out the space within which to create the wealth you desire," he said.

He said though labour is vital as a factor of production, but one must be ready and willing to up his game and acquire more knowledge capable of giving him an edge above competitors in order to remain relevant in the market place of ideas. The men were also taken through a health talk, delivered by Pastor Dr Adewale, who urged men above 45 to take things easyand adopt healthy living lifestyle in order to remain healthy even till old age. He gave a number of healthy tips that men needed to make use of as they get older, urging them as Ministers toknow their numbers (vital health details) in order to stay healthy and strong.
