Mr. Charles Aigbe, a renowned total marketing communications expert has been appointed by Heirs Oil & Gas, an indigenous-owned oil and gas company, as its Deputy Vice President (DVP), Community Relations. Aigbe who recently worked for Fidelity Bank Plc as the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications has a new job cut out for him at Heirs Oil & Gas. He will be responsible for directing and coordinating the vision and strategy for community relations initiatives, in harmony with strategic goals of the organisation among others. The Heirs DVP is in a familiar territory as an experienced professional. Before now Charles was at Fidelity Bank as Divisional Head, Brand and Communications where he was responsible for overseeing the brand management and marketing communications function among others. Before Fidelity Bank the well-known communications professional was Divisional Head, Marketing and Corporate Relations at Pan-African financial services group, United Bank for Africa (UBA) He started his career in the investment-banking end of the Nigerian financial industry, with defunct Kapital Merchant Bank before moving into broadcasting when he joined DBN Television in the mid-90s. He left as News Controller/Business Editor in late 2001 to take up an appointment with UBA in January 2002. Through hard work, determination and continuous pursuit of excellence, Charles soon established himself as a go-getter and team player at UBA, rising to head the overall communications and CSR functions in the entire Group. With a career spanning over two decades in financial Services, media, brand management, public relations and communications, Charles was called into the leadership of the association of communications managers in the industry in 2015 when he was elected as 1ST Vice President of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) and later became President. Charles Aigbe is an alumnus of the University of Jos, where he studied Economics. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Fellow Nigerian Institute of Marketing in Nigeria (NIMN), Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Honorary Senior Member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He is widely travelled and has attended several trainings both locally and internationally.
