Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, a Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has been declared the winner of the Anambra governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo polled a total of 112,229 votes. It will be recalled that on Saturday the 6th of November, 2021, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the election in Anambra State inconclusive.

The resumption of the supplementary election on Tuesday the 9th of November, 2021 at Ihiala gave the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) another landslide victory as APGA scored the most votes. At Ihiala Supplementary election, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) gathered 8,283 votes, PDP came second with 2,485 votes, while APC got 343 votes. Professor Charles took a swipe of the 19 local government areas in the state and scored 25% in all the 21 local government areas of the state, while his closest rival, Mr. Val Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 53,807 votes, while the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, came third with 43,285. The total registered voters in Anambra was 2,466,638, while 253,388 were accredited for the election.
